Medication Management
Medication management involves selecting, monitoring, and adjusting psychiatric medications when clinically appropriate. The goal is to reduce symptoms while carefully watching for side effects, interactions, and overall response.
Medication management may help with:
- Depression
- Anxiety disorders
- ADHD
- Bipolar disorder
- PTSD
- Sleep-related symptoms
- Mood instability
- Psychotic symptoms
- Medication adjustment after prior treatment
What patients can expect:Follow-up visits are used to review progress, side effects, daily functioning, sleep, mood, concentration, and any concerns with the treatment plan.
Typical Length:20–40 minutes depending on clinical need
Telepsychiatry
Telepsychiatry allows eligible patients to meet with their provider through a secure video appointment. It can be a convenient option for ongoing care, medication follow-ups, and some initial evaluations.
Benefits include:
- Convenient access from home
- Secure video platform
- Reduced travel time
- Easier continuity of care
- Helpful for stable follow-up visits
Important:Patients must be located in Florida at the time of the telehealth visit. Telehealth may not be appropriate for every clinical situation.
In-Person Psychiatric Visits
For patients who prefer face-to-face care, in-person appointments are available in a private and welcoming office setting.
In-person visits may be preferred for:
- First-time evaluations
- Complex clinical concerns
- Patients who feel more comfortable meeting directly
- Situations where telehealth is not clinically appropriate
- Patients who want a more personal office-based experience
Crisis Stabilization & Safety Planning
EscapeMind Psychiatry is not an emergency or crisis center, but safety planning may be part of ongoing psychiatric care when appropriate.
Safety planning may include:
- Intifying warning signs
- Discussing coping strategies
- Reviewing support systems
- Creating a plan for urgent situations
- Coordinating with family or other providers when clinically appropriate
- Referring to higher levels of care when needed
Emergency Notice:
If you or someone you know is in immediate danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. For mental health crisis support, call or text 988.
Therapy Collaboration & Referrals
EscapeMind Psychiatry is primarily focused on psychiatric evaluation and medication management. However, therapy is often an important part of mental health care.
When therapy is recommended, Latesia can help coordinate referrals to licensed therapists or community resources.
Referral support may include:
- CBT referrals
- Trauma-focused therapy referrals
- Family or adolescent therapy referrals
- Substance use treatment resources
- Community mental health support
- Coordination with existing therapists
Complex Medical-Psychiatric Needs
Because Latesia has a strong medical nursing background, EscapeMind Psychiatry is well-positioned to support patients whose mental health concerns overlap with medical conditions.
This may include patients with:
- Multiple medications
- Chronic medical illness
- Sleep and mood concerns
- Cognitive or behavioral changes
- Older adult medication complexity
- Coordination needs between psychiatric and medical providers
Not sure which service you need?
Start with a psychiatric evaluation. From there, your provider can help determine whether medication management, therapy referral, telehealth follow-up, or coordinated care is the right next step.
