Meet Your Provider
Meet Latesia Miles, PMHNP-BC
Board-certified psychiatric care grounded in clinical experience, compassion, and whole-person understanding.
At EscapeMind Psychiatry, care is led by Latesia Miles, PMHNP-BC, a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with more than 20 years of nursing experience. Her background spans high-acuity medical settings, psychiatric care, medication management, and complex patient support — allowing her to understand both the emotional and physical factors that can affect mental health.
Care That Begins With Listening
Mental health symptoms rarely exist in isolation. Sleep, medical history, trauma, relationships, medications, family dynamics, substance use, and major life transitions can all affect how a person feels and functions.
Latesia takes time to understand the full picture—not only the symptoms that brought you to care. Together, you will develop a treatment plan that is realistic, respectful, and informed by your individual needs.
Her goal is to help every patient feel heard, educated, and actively involved throughout treatment.
“I want patients to leave each visit feeling heard, informed, and confident about the next step in their care.”

A Clinical Background Built Across Every Level of Nursing
Latesia began her healthcare career as a Licensed Practical Nurse and continued advancing through registered nursing and graduate-level psychiatric training. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and completed her Master of Science in Nursing at St. Thomas University.

Where Medical and Mental Health Experience Meet
Emotional symptoms can sometimes be affected by medications, chronic illness, hormonal changes, sleep disorders, pain, neurological concerns, or other medical conditions.
Latesia’s acute-care nursing background helps her approach psychiatric treatment with a broader clinical perspective. She carefully considers medical history, current medications, possible interactions, and the need for coordination with other members of a patient’s healthcare team.

Collaborative Care
You are part of the decision-making process. Latesia explains options clearly, answers questions, and works with you to choose a plan that fits your goals and comfort level.
Evidence-Based Treatment
Care is guided by current psychiatric practice standards, clinical assessment, medication safety, and careful follow-up.
Cultural Sensitivity
Every person brings a unique background, identity, family system, and life story. Care is delivered with respect, openness, and dignity.
Whole-Person Perspective
Mental health care should consider more than a diagnosis. Sleep, medical conditions, medications, stress, relationships, work, school, and daily functioning all matter.
Begin with a thoughtful psychiatric evaluation.
